Monaco Yacht Show

Late September · 22 to 25 September 2027

French Riviera

The Monaco Yacht Show is the world's leading superyacht event, displaying the largest pleasure yachts afloat in Port Hercule in front of ultra-wealthy international clients.

Every year at the end of September, Monaco's Port Hercule hosts a fleet of new superyachts on display afloat for four days, making the Principality the world showcase of the luxury yacht industry. Created in 1991, the show has become over the years the most prestigious event in the sector, where the world's largest shipyards present their latest creations, often yachts more than fifty metres long, displayed side by side in a harbour turned for the occasion into a true open-air museum of the contemporary yacht.

Access to the quays and VIP areas of the show is tightly controlled, with a strict badge system organised in several levels of accreditation according to the visitor's profile (potential buyer, industry professional, shipyard guest), which makes transport coordination particularly important: every journey to the harbour must be planned precisely to avoid delays at the checkpoints, which are particularly numerous and rigorous given the value of the yachts on display.

As Monaco already has dense traffic in normal times because of its extremely small area, the concentration of several tens of thousands of international visitors during the Monaco Yacht Show puts considerable extra pressure on the access roads, particularly around the harbour itself and the Fontvieille district, where some of the temporary parking areas set up for the event are located.

The show attracts particularly international and discreet clients, between potential superyacht buyers from the Middle East, Asia or the Americas, existing owners coming to discover what is new on the market, and industry professionals (naval architects, equipment suppliers, yacht management companies) who use these four days to sign contracts and forge partnerships on a global scale.

Beyond the display afloat itself, the Monaco Yacht Show generates intense peripheral activity of private receptions on board the yachts on display or in the Principality's grand hotels, each requiring precise coordination between the different meeting points, often only a few hundred metres apart but with access constraints that make walking impractical for clients used to a continuous service.

Every year the show also welcomes a selection of very high-quality pre-owned yachts alongside the new ones, as well as an area dedicated to equipment suppliers and service providers (interior design, engines, on-board home automation), which complement the main display and attract specific professional clients, technical rather than commercial, with their own meeting times often offset from the main flow of visitors.

The show's format is also based on a rigorous selection of exhibitors by the organisers, with each shipyard having to apply for a berth, which guarantees a level of quality and exclusivity sought after by clients used to considering only the very top of the yacht market, reinforcing the Monaco Yacht Show's reputation as a benchmark event rather than a general trade exhibition.

The show's proximity to the Principality's other attractions, notably the Monte-Carlo Casino and its surrounding gardens, encourages many visitors to extend their visit beyond the harbour, often turning a simple business trip into a real Riviera stay of several days combining the show, fine dining and relaxation in one of the most sought-after settings in the Mediterranean.

The Principality uses this week to multiply cultural and social events alongside the show itself, private concerts, temporary exhibitions and gala evenings hosted by the luxury houses partnering the event, which extends the area of activity well beyond Port Hercule to the Monte-Carlo Casino, the Sporting and the Casino gardens, all places requiring coordinated journeys within a very small area.

This density of events in an area as compact as Monaco paradoxically makes getting around more complicated than you might expect for such a small territory: the apparent proximity of places hides real journey times that can be long, given the access checks, the many one-way streets in Monaco and the exceptional concentration of vehicles in a limited space.

The show's clients, used to high standards of service in every aspect of their trip, expect the same standard from their ground and air transport as from the rest of their Monaco experience: during this period, LimoAirportGroup organises helicopter flights from Nice airport and chauffeur hire adapted to the often late schedules and the discretion this event requires, where the confidentiality of journeys matters as much as their punctuality, from opening day to the close of the show.

Practical tips

How to organise your transport for this event

  • 1Allow extra time for the access checks to the show's quays, which are particularly strict given the exceptional value of the yachts on display.
  • 2The helicopter from Nice avoids the heavy traffic around Port Hercule during the four days of the show, a journey that can otherwise take more than an hour by car.
  • 3Appointments on board the yachts on display often require precise coordination of the drop-off point: give the details of your badge and invitation when booking your chauffeur.
  • 4Book your chauffeur or helicopter flight several weeks in advance, as availability tightens quickly during this very popular week.
  • 5For private evening receptions on board yachts or in the grand hotels, plan for a chauffeur on standby for the return journey, as the times of these events are rarely fixed precisely in advance.
  • 6If your stay at the Monaco Yacht Show lasts several days, consider full-day hire rather than repeated one-off transfers, a format that generally proves more economical and smoother for clients who need to move frequently between several points in the Principality.
