Chelsea Flower Show

Mid-May · 18 to 22 May 2027

London

The world's most famous gardening show transforms the lawns of the Royal Hospital Chelsea every year into a horticultural showcase visited by the royal family and by an international audience passionate about gardens and landscape design.

Organised by the Royal Horticultural Society since 1913, the Chelsea Flower Show has become the absolute world reference for horticultural shows, where the greatest garden designers unveil short-lived show gardens designed and built in just a few weeks, judged by a panel of experts who award the most coveted medals in the profession. The 2027 edition runs from 18 to 22 May, with a press day on the 17th reserved for professionals and members of the royal family, who traditionally make a much-reported visit the day before the official opening.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea, the historic home of British army veterans since the seventeenth century, lends its grounds and main courtyard every year to host the show, in a listed architectural setting that gives the event a prestige few other horticultural shows in the world can match.

Chelsea, one of London's most exclusive districts with its Georgian and Victorian houses lining narrow streets, is not designed to absorb the tens of thousands of visitors a day the show generates over its five days, particularly on the closing weekend, when attendance traditionally peaks and tickets sometimes sell out several months in advance.

Chelsea Flower Show visitors, often wealthy gardening enthusiasts from all over the world combining the show with a London stay focused on the British art of living, generally look for a level of service consistent with the standing of the event: private transport between the hotel and the Royal Hospital, a flexible slot for a visit that easily lasts several hours, and flexibility for lunches held alongside the show in the restaurants of nearby King's Road.

The streets around the Royal Hospital, notably Royal Hospital Road and Chelsea Bridge Road, have particularly heavy traffic when the show opens and closes each day, with extremely limited parking that makes using a personal vehicle almost impossible without a chauffeur who knows exactly which drop-off points are allowed in this protected residential area.

LimoAirportGroup organises complete transport to the Chelsea Flower Show for its clients, with a chauffeur who waits throughout the visit and knows the best drop-off and pick-up points right next to the Royal Hospital, for a smooth experience from the first to the last moment of this day dedicated to British horticulture.

Practical tips

How to organise your transport for this event

  • 1Book your visit slot and your chauffeur well in advance for the closing weekend, traditionally the most requested period of the whole show week.
  • 2Parking around the Royal Hospital Chelsea is extremely limited: a chauffeur who knows the allowed drop-off points in this protected residential area avoids any difficulty on the day of your visit.
  • 3Allow plenty of time for your visit, as several hours are needed to see all the show gardens and exhibitors' stands, with the chauffeur available on site throughout.
  • 4For a lunch alongside the visit on King's Road or in Chelsea, give your full programme to your chauffeur so that the journeys can be planned smoothly.
  • 5The press day and royal visit on 17 May come with reinforced security around the Royal Hospital: avoid any unnecessary travel in the area that day unless you are attending this reserved day yourself.
