Mont Blanc flight, the shortest option

In around fifteen minutes, this route climbs quickly above Courchevel to open up the view of the Mont Blanc massif and its granite needles, visible on the horizon on a clear day, with the Vanoise peaks in the foreground.

It is the most accessible of the three options, ideal for a quick discovery or to round off an airport or helicopter transfer without stretching the day's plans too much.

Its short duration makes it easy to fit into a busy day, between a morning's skiing and dinner, or just before sunset, when the peaks turn shades of orange.

The pilot confirms departure after checking the weather at altitude; if wind or cloud rolls in, the flight is simply moved to another slot, without losing your booking.

This short format particularly suits travellers short on time or a group discovering Courchevel for the first time: in fifteen minutes, it already gives an overview of the massif that hours of walking on summer trails could not provide so quickly.

It is well suited to children and first-time helicopter passengers, who can discover the sensation of flying without committing to a long flight.

Vanoise route, high-altitude lakes and glaciers

This route of around 35 minutes crosses the heart of the Vanoise National Park, between high-altitude lakes and wooded slopes, far from the busiest air corridors.

Midway between the short Mont Blanc flight and the full Three Valleys tour, it suits anyone wanting a longer flight without going as far as the full hour of the most extensive route.

The aircraft is chosen according to the number of passengers booked, from a single-engine for a couple to a twin-engine for a group of five, so that everyone has a window seat or a clear view ahead.

France's first national park, created in 1963, the Vanoise protects ibex, chamois and bearded vultures: to preserve this wildlife, its core cannot be overflown at less than 1,000 metres above the ground, a height that in turn offers a spectacular overview of its glaciers.

The route follows valleys largely untouched by tourist development, a striking contrast with the lively Three Valleys resorts just minutes away by air, for a view of wilder, less frequented mountains.

Thanks to the headsets, the pilot comments on the landscape throughout the flight, naming the main peaks and glaciers below, so everyone can put a name to what they see from the cabin.

Three Valleys flight, the most complete route

Lasting about an hour, this route links Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens in a single flight, for an overview of the world's largest linked ski area that is impossible to take in from the slopes themselves.

It is the route most often chosen to mark a special occasion, such as a birthday or a marriage proposal, with a duration that leaves time to appreciate each valley along the way.

It can be booked on its own, as an outing in its own right, or as an extension of a helicopter arrival from Geneva, with the aircraft flying the transfer and the scenic loop back to back.

Its longer duration means the route can be adjusted during the flight to suit you, lingering for example over a particular peak or valley, for a more personal experience than the two shorter routes.

This longer format suits a group on a one-off visit as well as a family based in Courchevel for the season, keen to rediscover from the air, from a completely new angle, a ski area they explore every day.

From above, you finally understand how the lifts link the valleys together, and you can easily spot the runs you have already skied as well as those to explore the next day.

Scenic helicopter flights from Courchevel

Before take-off, the pilot runs through the route, the safety instructions and the seating plan: every passenger enjoys a clear view through the cabin's large windows.

The flight departs from Courchevel Altiport, a few minutes from the resort's main accommodation; your chauffeur can drop you off there and wait for you throughout the flight.

Winter brings fully snow-covered peaks and strongly contrasting light, while summer reveals the alpine pastures, high-altitude lakes and bare glaciers: two very different experiences over the same mountains.

For photographers, late afternoon is the most sought-after slot, when the low sun picks out every ridge; in the morning, the calmer, clearer air often gives the best visibility of Mont Blanc.

Warm clothing is still advisable even though the cabin is heated, as are sunglasses against the glare off the snow, which is very strong at altitude in clear weather.

If conditions do not allow a safe flight, the pilot decides to postpone it: you are then offered a new slot in the following days, at no extra cost.

Each option shows an indicative starting price; the final amount is confirmed according to the aircraft selected and the number of passengers, before your booking is validated.

To extend the experience, the flight can easily be combined with a mountain-top lunch, a day's skiing or a transfer to Geneva on your departure day, all arranged by the same team.
