Late October · 21 to 25 October 2026
Art Basel Paris brings together more than two hundred international galleries under the glass roof of the Grand Palais every year, becoming for five days the world's most prestigious contemporary art event after the historic Swiss edition.
Launched in 2022 as Paris+ by Art Basel, after Art Basel won the tender that ended the former FIAC, the fair has become in just a few editions one of the most sought-after events in the international contemporary art calendar, taking full advantage of the return of the fully renovated Grand Palais to stage its main exhibition. The 2026 edition, scheduled from 21 to 25 October with preview days reserved for professionals on the 21st and 22nd, brings together more than two hundred galleries from some forty countries under the monument's immense glass roof.
The Grand Palais, on Avenue Winston Churchill in the 8th arrondissement a few steps from the Champs-Élysées, offers a unique architectural setting for this kind of event, with its central nave several dozen metres high allowing very large works to be shown alongside more intimate presentations in the surrounding galleries. This exceptional architecture, combined with the global reputation of the Art Basel brand, attracts collectors, museum curators and wealthy art lovers from all over the world.
The first two days, reserved for professionals and invited collectors, account for most of the fair's major transactions, in an atmosphere where discretion remains the rule despite the many personalities from the worlds of art, fashion and business. These days create particularly demanding transport needs: private appointments in the galleries before the official opening, visits to artists' studios alongside the fair, and business lunches at the great restaurants of the neighbouring 8th arrondissement.
The public opening from 23 October considerably increases attendance, with the Grand Palais welcoming several tens of thousands of visitors over the remaining three days, in an area already busy with traffic because of its proximity to the Champs-Élysées and the Petit Palais. Access via Champs-Élysées Clemenceau metro station, a few metres from the main entrance, remains the most direct option for the general public, but the fair's VIP guests overwhelmingly prefer private transport for its discretion and flexible timing.
Art Basel Paris week traditionally comes with intense activity across the capital: openings in the galleries of the Marais and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, satellite exhibitions organised by luxury houses partnering the event, and private dinners in exceptional venues booked out for the occasion. This spread of activity beyond the Grand Palais multiplies the meeting points to be served throughout the week.
For international visitors coming specifically for the fair, often from New York, London, Hong Kong or the Middle East, coordinating the arrival by private jet or commercial flight with the week's busy programme of business and social appointments deserves precise planning when booking the stay, and LimoAirportGroup can handle all of this coordination, from the airport transfer to the last dinner of the week.
