The Émile Allais stadium in Courchevel 1850 hosts a women's World Cup night slalom, now a classic of the resort's winter calendar.
After the 2025 edition won by Mikaela Shiffrin, the women's World Cup returns to Courchevel on 22 December 2026 for another night slalom at the Émile Allais stadium, right in the heart of the resort. This evening format under floodlights creates a special atmosphere enjoyed by spectators and skiers alike.
The race brings together the world's best specialists in the discipline, just before Christmas, at the start of the school holidays, a period when Courchevel 1850 is already naturally busy.
The night format sets this stage apart from most other women's World Cup races, which are held during the day: the artificial lighting of the Émile Allais stadium radically changes how the skiers read the terrain, making it a technical race in its own right, closely followed by specialists of the discipline.
The Émile Allais stadium is in the very heart of Courchevel 1850, right next to the hotels and shops of the village centre: the race thus fits naturally into resort life rather than requiring a trip to an outlying site.
This proximity between the race venue and the centre of Courchevel 1850 partly explains the special atmosphere of the evening, as spectators can move freely between the side of the piste and the village's restaurants and bars once the race is over.
