International Fireworks Art Festival

Every winter, Courchevel becomes the international capital of fireworks for a few evenings, with a competition bringing together pyrotechnicians from several countries across the resort's different villages.

The Courchevel International Fireworks Art Festival traditionally moves between the resort's different villages (1850, 1650, 1550, Le Praz) over several evenings, with each participating team presenting a show on a common theme, scored by an international jury.

Usually held in February or early March, during the busy school holidays, the festival draws large crowds around the different firing sites depending on the evening. The exact dates of the 2027 edition had not yet been officially announced when this page was written: we will update them as soon as the resort publishes them.

Moving the festival between the resort's different villages, rather than concentrating it on a single site, gives each part of Courchevel at least one evening of fireworks: a way for the resort to spread the crowds while giving each village its moment in the spotlight.

The reflections of the fireworks on the surrounding snow and, depending on the site chosen, on a body of water such as the Le Praz lake are among the features that set this festival apart from an ordinary fireworks display, the snowy mountains offering a setting and relief that you do not find in the lowlands.

The high standards of the international jury and the variety of countries represented by the participating teams give this event a dimension closer to a sporting competition than a simple public show, which explains its reputation beyond the resort's holidaymakers.
